WHAT TO EXPECT
Psychological therapy is a safe space to talk about the challenges that you are currently facing. Sessions may focus on exploring difficult experiences, or be a space to think about your thoughts, feelings, and ways of coping.
At our first appointment we will spend some time talking about your current difficulties and your hopes and expectations from talking therapy. Together we will discuss a plan for treatment and agree on the best way forward; including thinking about how often to meet and for how many sessions would be recommended.
Within our therapy sessions I typically draw upon Cognitive Behavioural therapy which explores the ways in which we think and how this links to our feelings and our behaviour. Alternatively, we will use EMDR as a means of supporting recovery.
If you would like to find out more, or have any questions about whether sessions might be helpful for you, please do get in touch and I would be happy to discuss with you.
